Canyon Cinema is pleased to announce that five new films by Dominic Angerame are now available for rent.

A Small Fragment of a Day That Belongs to 20 Years Ago (2025, 7.5 minutes, color, sound, digital file)
Memories of lovers past. A glimpse of the erotic emotions that linger in the mind as it changes with each moment of time passing.

Habana, 2006 (2025, 9 minutes, color, sound, digital file)
“In 2006, Angerame was invited to Havana, Cuba, to present his City Symphony Series at the Festival Internacional del Nuevo Cine Latinoamericano de La Habana, which marked the beginning of his 13-year collaboration with the festival as a programmer. HABANA CUBA 2006 is a record of that visit, tracing Havana in Fidel Castro’s final year as Cuban leader and the ongoing propaganda war between the U.S. and Cuba. X-rayed at several airports, an old color negative stock adds a new texture to the image, illuminating Havana as a city of fascinating contrasts, one with few ties to the outside world where time stands still.”

Film Diary #10: Eyefull Portraits (2025, 3.5 minutes, color, sound, digital file)
“Brief, impressionistic portraits of many of Angerame’s friends and acquaintances who live in San Francisco. Set to Toney Merritt’s haunting sound design and superimposed with NASA images and footage of Angerame’s coming down the elevator at the Eiffel Tower, Film Diary #11 Eyefull Portraits is a descent into the depths of the subconsciousness, transforming into a complex, densely layered exploration of friendship, loneliness, city dwelling and the unknown.” — Kornelia Boczkowska

Film Diary #11: A Cosmic, Covid 70th Birthday Party (2025, 3.5 minutes, b&w, sound, digital file)
At the height of the Covid pandemic I turned 70 years old. Anthony Buchanan and myself share the same birthday and we decided to hold a celebration outdoors in Kerouac Alley in San Francisco. I had asked most of the people there to dance for me for 18 seconds. Found the Tom Waits songs that I later added that fits perfectly with the dancing birthday celebrants.

Film Diary #12: Buffalo 1969 (2025, 3 minutes, color, sound, digital file)
An anti Vietnam demonstration filmed on regular 8mm during the height of the peace movement. I would skip a required course at the Jesuit Canisius College. The required course was Military Science where we were required to put on army uniforms and march and become members of ROTC. New York State law at that time required Freshman to take a course in gymnastics. Since Cansius had torn down the gym, they considered marching as the same as going to the gym. I finally passed the course with the lowest mark of “C” by turning in a final papers based on the Poetry of Ho Chi Mihn.
