A poem of patterns and pictures captured onto photo sensitive film. Photograms and fragments of found film footage combine with shapes and textures fixed from detritus often found drifting on shorelines. Using hand-cranked film rewinds, these film strips are wound back and forth generating braided rhythmic variations, drawing acute parallels between the mechanized action alluding to the natural cadence of tidal movements that sweeping twice daily into the long estuary where I live, the patterns crisscrossing each other playing out the sea’s grand timetable.
