Edvard Lieber
Edvard Lieber has appeared on three continents as concert pianist, composer, and guest artist on numerous radio and television broadcasts. From 1976 through 1982, he also worked as cinematographer on ten German and Swiss feature films, and in 1983, he withdrew from the concert stage to create works fusing multiple art forms. His CD Music to Paintings (1996, Concord Concerto) comprises all of his musical compositions inspired by contemporary paintings. He is the author of Willem de Kooning: Reflections in the Studio (2000, Harry N. Abrams, Inc.), which includes ninety-eight of his photographs of de Kooning. From 1978-2008, he taught at the School of Visual Arts in New York, where he originated two courses correlating nine art forms, and his drawings, photographs, paintings, and films have been shown in galleries and museums in the United States and Europe.
