Announcing New Streaming Partnership with Projectr EDU

Posted December 16th, 2022 in Announcements, News / Events

Canyon Cinema is excited to collaborate with our friends at Grasshopper Film on their new Projectr EDU streaming service! Partnering with the New York Public Library and educational institutions across North America, the free platform features nearly 1000 independent and artist-made films, archival restorations, and documentaries.

A sampling of these films includes over 100 titles from Canyon’s collection; the complete restored films of pioneering filmmakers Jean-Marie Straub and Danièle Huillet; Sudu Connexion, which features documentaries and short films from Africa and its Diaspora; MTV Documentary Films; as well as numerous acclaimed works from filmmakers like Ryusuke Hamaguchi, Hong Sang-soo, Jane Campion, Andrew Bujalski, Amy Seimetz, Wang Bing, Tsai Ming-Liang, Bong Joon-ho, Pedro Costa, Sky Hopinka, Khalik Allah, and Ephraim Asili, among others.

New titles will be added to Projectr EDU on a weekly basis, many of which are not available to stream on any other platform. With this expansive library, Projectr EDU more than doubles the number of titles available on Projectr’s TVOD site.

Currently included within the Canyon section of Projectr EDU are films by Stephanie Barber, Stephen Broomer, Bill Brown, Mónica de Miranda, Christopher Harris, Anna Kipervaser, Alexis Krasilovksy, Brigid McCaffrey, Toney W. Merritt, Elena Pardo, Rajee Samarasinghe, Jonathan Schwartz, Wenhua Shi, Fern Silva, Deborah Stratman, Paige Taul, and Robert Todd.

You can now stream Projectr EDU for free with an NYPL library card
